Hello again lovelies! I'm going to be reviewing the Cotton Candy palette from the I Heart Revolution chocolate bar range. The palette originally launched with 3 other palettes; Macaroons, Lemon Drizzle and Galactic, they all follow the new format and consist of the new formula of mattes and shimmers.

The Basics
Weight: Matte 1.2g and Shimmers 1g each (Variation because of the way the formulas are pressed)
18 Shades
3 mattes and 15 shimmers
Pastel and neutral colours
Full-sized mirror
Cruelty free
Light chocolate scent
Pick yours up for £8.99 at Superdrug (3 for 2 right now!) or for £9.00 at Revolution Beauty.

The Packaging
The packaging is the same as the other chocolate bars in the range. A plastic chocolate bar casing with melted chocolate drips over the top. In this case, the main bar is a light peachy beige with pastel lilac-pink drips. I love the packaging of this palette, its very pastel and girly which I'm all about.
Swatches
The colours in the palette are a pretty mix of pastel shimmers and neutrals to balance out the look. I have swatched the colours without flash and in natural daylight to show you a true representation of the colours in the palette.

The shades all performed fairly nicely in the swatch. The shimmers were all outstandingly pigmented and creamy and had a beautiful shine in the natural light. The metallic shades 'Fairy floss' 'Strawberry' and 'Pretty in Pastel' were definitely stand out colours in this palette. The mattes ('Enjoy' 'Made to Share' and 'Treat for you' were also nicely pigmented, however they all are around the same mid-tone, meaning there are no mattes to deepen up the crease or the outer corner for smokier looks.
The shade 'Fairground' is somewhere between a matte and a shimmer, it has a medium, slightly rosy toned matte base with tiny gold fleck of shimmer running through it, it is very pretty.

As I said previously, the matte colours in the palette only work as transitional colours with slightly different tones. 'Enjoy' is a mid-toned brown which is slightly cool, 'Made to Share' is a warmer mid-toned brown and 'Treat for you' is a mid-toned brown with yellowish, mustard undertones. There are some deeper shades in a shimmery formula that could be used through the crease or outer V to add depth, these are 'Sweetheart' 'Puff' and 'Dreams.' However, many people do not like to add shimmers through the crease as it can be difficult to blend and accentuate texture on the eye. I used the shade 'Puff' in my outer corner in the look I created and when used with a fluffy brush, the shimmer dusts away and it performs as a satin shade.
The Eye Look.

For this eye look I went for the pink and purple tones in the palette and I really loved how the look turned out. In the sun the shimmers reflected back beautifully and created a soft, ethereal look.
I started the look by setting the lid with 'Sweet Tooth' then blended 'Made to Share' through the crease. I then swiped the shade 'Strawberry' all over the lid and added 'Fairy Floss' to the inner third for some brightness. I then blended the shade 'Fairground' through the transition area to add a more pink tone. To deepen the look, I blended 'Puff' into the outer corner and added a small amount of 'Pretty in Pastel' to blend 'Puff' and 'Strawberry' together. To finish the look I added the shade 'Topped' to the brow bone and 'Sweet Tooth' to the inner corner. To deepen the lash line, I dampened an angled brush and lined the lashes with 'Puff.'
Final Thoughts.
This is a very Emily palette. I love metallic and shimmery eye shadows and I don't mind that there isn't a lot of mattes as I often blend shimmers and satin through my crease anyway. I would say that this palette is more spring/summer with the colour scheme and I don't think you could get very glam or sophisticated looks and if I were to change one thing, I would add a few deeper mattes for people with deeper skin tones to use as a transition.
However, I would 100% recommend this palette to anyone who loves sparkly, pastel eye shadows and who loves playing with pops of colour as it is very, very pretty.
Thank you for reading!
Emily x
