Hello Lovelies! Today I am going to be reviewing the I Heart Revolution 'Mini Nudes' palette. This palette was released with three other mini palettes (Mint, Chocolate Orange and Rose Gold) as part of the chocolate bar range. When I first saw the mini palettes I was obsessed, I love anything miniature it just draws me in. However, I thought at £6.00 are they really worth it, considering a full size chocolate bar palette is only £8.99? Anyway... I caved and bought the Mini Nudes and Mini Mint.

The idea of these mini palettes are to be 'sister' palettes to their bigger partners, so they have similar tones but apparently no duplicate shades. Unfortunately, I don't have the larges Nudes palette in my collection so I can't do a comparison for you today.

The Mini Nudes Palette.

The outer packaging.

The Packaging

As I said before, I'm obsessed with the miniature size of this palette. The packaging is exactly the same as the other chocolate bars with a plastic chocolate bar casing and melted drips over the top (BUT MINI!) In this case, the main bar is white with nude drips. Unfortunately, the palette does not have any shade names on the palette or on a plastic insert. This is disappointing, as I like to be inspired by the names in the palette.

Swatches

The colours in the palette are a pretty mix of browns, golds, champagnes and a pop of plum. The formula of all of the shades in this palette seem different to the other chocolate bars in the range. I have swatched the shades in natural light and some of the shades with a phone flash so you can see the different textures and finishes of the eye shadows.

The mattes and shimmers seem extremely soft, pigmented and creamy and the two metallics feel like a rich emollient base with high-shine glitter pigments throughout. The new formula in this palette is incredible and feels like a high-end brand rather than drug store, I would love it if in the future the larger chocolate bars were made in this formula.

Revolution 'Mini Nudes' vs Charlotte Tilbury 'Exagger-Eyes.'

The 3rd shade in the palette (sorry there is no names) feels especially fantastic and actually reminded me of the Charlotte Tilbury 'Pop' shade in her palette. So I decided to get out my Charlotte Tilbury quad in 'Exagger-Eyes' to find out. The swatch on the lower part of my arm is Revolution and the swatch on the upper part of my arm is Charlotte Tilbury. Obviously, the shadows are different colours but both of the shadows had a similar creamy feel with high shine glitters scattered throughout. The Charlotte Tilbury formula feels a bit more emollient compared to the Revolution shadow however both are still very creamy. I actually think the Revolution shade has more glitter pigments in it than the Charlotte Tilbury formula and therefore has more of an impact on the eye.

Swatches against the palette.

The Nudes palette as a whole has a good range of shades suited for both every day and more glamorous looks. On first look at the palette there appears to be only one transition shade which is shade '7' in the palette, a warm toned peach. However, shade '4' actually blends out to a nice light brown and can be used in the transition. To deepen the look there are four shades you can use shade '4,' shade '5' a slightly deeper matte brown and shade '6' a satiny plum. In my opinion the lid shades are what makes this palette special. The two glitter shades '2' and '3' are a stunning bronze and pinky champagne perfect for the lid. Shade '1' and shade '8' are also shimmery satin's and perform nicely on the lid or as an inner corner or brow bone highlight.

The Eye Look.

I decided to go for a simple, every day look with this palette and I tried to use as many shades as I could in the palette! Firstly, I used shade '1' the lightest satin to set my lid, I then used '7' the peachy shade through my transition area. In the crease, I used shade '4' which I was afraid would be a bit too dark on my skin tone, but it blended out into a soft brown. To deepen the outer corner I used shade '5.' On the lid, I used my finger to sweep shade '3' all over. I then used a brush in shade '2' for the outer third of the lid, and as I suspected, I got a bit of fallout under my eye. I think these creamy shades work best when applied with a finger rather than a brush as the formula is so soft. Finally, I used the plummy shade '6' between shades '2' and '5' to tie them together. Overall, I really liked this look, it was soft and pretty and the glittery shades looked stunning in the sunlight!

Final Thoughts.

I really like this palette. I think its perfect to chuck in your handbag or take travelling with you as its so compact. The range of shadows are beautiful for every day and glam looks and I don't think anyone would be disappointed with it. The formula is one of the best formulas in the chocolate bar range and I think everyone should try it out!

Thank you for reading!
