Hello Lovelies!

As we all know, I'm obsessed with makeup and I spend most of my free time on Instagram looking at pages like @Trendmood1 and @Beautynewsofficial looking at the latest releases in the makeup community. So I thought it might be fun to blog about 5 things I would purchase (if I had unlimited funds) and 5 things I will definitely not be buying, and the reasons why.

Purchases!

1. Jouer Cosmetics - Molten Glow - £22.50

This new face and body highlight from Jouer Cosmetics looks stunning. Its golden tone looks perfect for the summer season to add a sun kissed glow to the tops of the cheekbones and to the shoulders and chest. It retails for £22.50 on BeautyBay and comes in a set with a kabuki brush to apply the product. You get 10g of product which is a decent amount, espeically for a highlighter and it is vegan and cruelty free! Personally, I have never tried a Jouer highlighter but from swatches it looks smooth, creamy and pigmented.

2. Zoeva Soft Sun Glow Lights- £16.50

The new blushes from Zoeva have really intrigued me. They look like they could be a similar concept to the Hourglass ambient lighting blush, but at a much more affordable £16.50 compared to £35.00 for Hourglass. Both blushes seem to have a marbled effect with a blush swirled with a highlight/softening powder.

I have actually purchased the Zoeva blush in Moonlit and it is a beautiful soft mauve with a slight sheen. It is smooth, lightly pigmented and soft making it lovely to blend onto the cheeks!

3. Charlotte Tilbury - Hot Lips 2 Collection- £28.00

This full collection of Hot Lips from Charlotte Tilbury is stunning. Charlotte's formula is one of my favourite lipsticks formulas and I love the luxurious feel of the packaging. The new shades I would love are:

  • Glowing Jen - A rose nude inspired by Jennifer Aniston

  • Viva la Vergara - A rich wine inspired by Sofia Vergara

  • Amazing Amal - A soft berry pink inspired by Amal Clooney.

The new packaging is gorgeous, each lipstick has its own refillable metal case with a different design. However, the price increase from an already expensive £24.00 per lipstick to £28.00 per lipstick seems unjustified to me, especially since I feel like the new shades are quite similar to her older shades. However, this purchase or pass is in an ideal world where I am rich and I can own 300 lipsticks of the same shade, so if that was the case I would 100% purchase the full collection!

4. Revolution Pro New Neutral Satin Matte Lipstick - £5.00

Revolution Pro New Neutral Satin Matte Lipstick.

The new lipsticks from Revolution Pro peaked my interest when they first popped up on instagram. Their gold, leopard print casing and range of colours really appealed to me. They seem luxurious and high-end even though they only cost £5.00 each. I purchased all 6 shades in the collection and surprising I liked every single one. I was worried about the shades 'Stripped' and 'Cashmere' as they appeared very light, however on the lips both shades were wearable. I preferred 'Stripped' paired with a lip liner just to tone down the lightness of the nude, however it was still very pretty by itself. My favourite shade of the bunch was 'Velvet' a rosy, brown-pink and I can see myself getting a lot of wear out of these. The formula was matte, but light on the lips and the wear time was around 5 hours. Fab!

5. Too Faced Gingerbread Spice eye shadow palette ( Re-release) - £39.00

I think this could be something I'm most excited for! I have been lusting after this palette since it was first released last Christmas and I thought I had missed my chance with it being Limited Edition. However it has been re-released as part of 'Christmas in July.' The warm tones, duo-chromes and rich shimmers really appeal to me and the packaging is adorable. I also already own 2 Too Faced eye shadow palettes (Chocolate bar and Chocolate Bon Bons) and I really enjoy their formula. I would also love to try their melted matte lipsticks, especially the shade 'Gingerbread Man' however this doesn't seem to be part of the Christmas in July release at Debenhams.

To my surprise, my lovely boyfriend bought this palette for me! So review coming soon!

PASS!

1. Nabla Cosmetics DeNude Collection.

The DeNude collection from Nabla consists of:

  • Two mini eye shadow palettes in Nude and Coral

  • Two lipglosses in the shades Champagne Supernova and Aftersex

  • DeNude Eye Brush set.

Personally, I just find this collection boring, I have these shades in other palettes and I'm not a lip gloss kind of girl. I like the concept of smaller eye shadow palettes, but they need to be interesting and these just aren't to me.

2. Kylie Cosmetics Summer Palette.

Kylie Cosmetics is a brand that I am not really interested in, I have watched reviews of her products and I feel as though the quality never matches the price. The new summer palette by Kylie Cosmetics looks nice, the shimmery colours look gorgeous actually, especially the lime green, deeper green and purple. However the mattes in the palette lose my attention. The four matte shades in the palette look extremely similar to each other and I think they would appear too similar and muddy on the eye. I also like it when a palette has a matte or satin cream shade I can sue to set my lid, a highlight shade and a dark shade that I can use as liner but this palette lacks all of those things.

3. Stila Suade Shade liquid eye shadow.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Stila Liquid eye shadows. I have owned several colours in the Glitter and Glow formula over the years and I love the effect on the eye and the ease of application. However, this new collection of liquid suede eye shadows confuses me. I don't understand applying a liquid eye shadow for it to dry completely matte, in my opinion I can achieve that look with a matte eye shadow and it will be easier to blend into the skin. However, I can see the appeal if you enjoy an all matte eye look and these could be used to cut the crease, but that is not my cup of tea when it comes to eye shadow.

4. Melt Cosmetics Digital Dust Highlighters.

The new digital dust highlighters do look beautiful. I love the embossed writing across the highlighter and the two shades look gorgeous. Although, disappointingly I don't think either of the shades would work for my fair, yellow under-toned skin. The shade 'Genesis' is a deep peach with an orange under-toned and pink/gold shift. I think this would be too dark and too orange on my skin as a highlighter and it would be too reflective to wear as a blush. Although, I think it would be stunning on deeper skin tones. The shade 'Morning star' looks more suitable for my skin tone and is described as an opulent vanilla hue with gold and pink pearl. However, in other swatches and photographs it appears to leave a greyish silver cast which would be very apparent on my fair skin. Although, if I seen more swatches and reviews of Morning Star I may be more inclined to purchase it, if it is as described on the website.

5. Colourpop Cosmetics California Love Collection.

The Colourpop Cosmetics California Love Collection consists of:

  • California Love eye shadow palette,

  • 2x New BFF Mascaras in the sades Lovers' Coral and Brownie Points,

  • 5x New Ultra Blotted Lips.

I have mixed feelings about this collection of a whole. I feel as though I have a lot of the shades in the palette and some I would never use as I do not suit mustard toned shades, However, the glitters in the palette look absolutely gorgeous and the other shades in the palette are beautiful. I would purchase the Brownie Points mascara as I am interested in brown mascara but I would never wear the coral. The blotted lip shades look nice but I have all of these colours in other formulas in my collection. Overall, I would have to see more reviews on the blotted lips and the mascara before purchasing but I would not buy the coral mascara or the palette.
