Hello Lovelies! Today I am going to be reviewing the newest Jeffree Star eye shadow palette 'Jawbreaker.' This palette was released as part of his Summer 2019 collection and is his biggest palette to date with 24 shades. The shades in this palette are what first drew me in, it is a rainbow palette, however the colours within the palette are more unique with neon's and pastels rather than your typical primary rainbow shades.

The Basics.
Net Weight: 24x1.5G/0.05 oz.
Eyeshadow and pressed pigment formula.
17x Mattes and 8 Metallics.
Rainbow bright neon and pastel colours.
Large mirror included.
Cruelty Free.
Vegan. Pick this palette up (here) at Beauty Bay for £54.00.
The Packaging.
The packaging for this palette is gorgeous. The outer packaging is a stunning metallic pink with rainbow jawbreaker sprinkles and the name of the palette in white with a neon green trim. It is made from cardboard making it sturdy and protected, but not bulky. I previously owned the 'Blood Sugar' palette but sold it on to a friend as I thought it was too bulky and I didn't like the overall colour scheme of the palette. So, I was worried with this palette being larger it would take up even more space! However, although the Jawbreaker palette has more shades, the packaging is more streamline and less bulky than the 'Blood Sugar' palette so I prefer it.

Swatches.
The colours in the palette are a beautiful and unique mix of bright neon's, pastels and neutrals to balance out your eye shadow looks. This palette is a mix of both eye shadows and pressed pigments meaning the colours in the palette will be extremely pigmented, however this also means that some shades are not recommended for use on the immediate eye area, such as the waterline, and some shades may cause staining. The back of the packaging states that the shades: Bubblegum, Licorice, F*ck, Gum Drop, Snack, Dark Red, And What? Orange Juice, Suck, Cotton Candy, Bite Me and Cherry Wet are not intended for use around the immediate eye area.
The formula of this eyeshadow palette is the same as both 'Blood Sugar' and 'Blue Blood' and in my opinion is one of the best matte eyeshadow formulas around. The mattes are super buttery, creamy and opaque with minimal fallout. The metallics are gorgeous, highly-pigmented and shiny with micro-fine duo chrome pigments within them.

With this palette being so large I have decided to swatch the shades row by row and describe the colours included from Left to Right.
Virgin - A matte white with a creamy yellow undertone.
Good Morning - A matte very light pale pink.
Bubble Gum - A matte bright bubble gum pink.
Wow - A matte bright true yellow.
Suck - A matte bright neon flame orange.
Licorice - A matte primary red.
All of the shades in this row were buttery, creamy and highly pigmented. I'm happy to see a matte white and a matte pale pink included as personally I can use these to set the eye area and to help blend out any shades. The shade 'Bubble Gum' is one of my favourites in the palette as it is such a gorgeous, bubble gum pink!

The second row in the palette has more of the pastel shades as I mentioned before. This row is my favourite in the palette, and what drew me to the palette, as these are the most unique shades in my opinion.
Cute - A matte mint green.
F*ck - A matte neon peach.
Gum Drop - A matte pastel lilac.
Snack - A metallic light peachy pink.
Brain Freeze - A matte pastel baby blue.
Jaw Breaker - A metallic white with golden champagne reflects.
Once again, all of these shades were beautifully rich and pigmented. I love the pastel and neon hues and the metallics are gorgeous for all over the lids or as inner corner/brow bone highlights.

The third row of the palette is the more mid-toned bright, primary shades. Perfect for deepening any look and adding a pop of bright colour.
And What? - A metallic cherry red.
Orange Juice- A metallic bright orange with duo chrome golden shimmers.
Sour- A matte mid toned grassy green.
Soaked- A matte, bright royal blue.
Raspberry- A matte brick, plummy red,
Cotton Candy - A metallic hot pink with purple/blue shimmers.
The metallics are the stand out colours for this row. In particular, the shade 'Orange Juice' is gorgeous! Normally, I am not one for orange eye shadow however, this shade is so rich, bright and pigmented with the most stunning shift. I can't wait to put it on my eyes!

The last row of the palette contains most of the deepest shades, perfect for adding smokiness and depth to any look.
Lemon Drop - A metallic golden yellow.
Bite Me- A metallic true purple.
Cherry Wet- (Named after his liquid lipstick shade) A matte cherry pink/red.
Tasty - A matte neutral toned brown.
Cone - A matte warm toned nude.
Delicious - A matte navy blue.
These mattes were slightly less pigmented than the others in the palette, however that could have been because of the dampness of the baby wipe on my arm! I'm happy to see that although this is a rainbow palette, the shades 'Tasty' and 'Cone' were still included as staple transition/crease/deepening shades. Personally, even when using colourful shades, I still like to go into my transition with a neutral colour to help blend any colour into my skin tone so these shades are perfect for that.
Eye Look 1.
For this look, I decided to go with my favourite coloured eye shadow ever, purple!
To start, I set my lid with 'Virgin' and blended 'Cone' through my crease. I then used a flat shader brush to stand 'Gum drop' onto the entire lid. Next, I used 'Snack' on my finger and applied it to the inner third of the eye. I then blended a small amount of 'Bite Me' onto the outer third of the eye and deepened the outer V with 'Soaked.' for the lower lash line, I packed the shade 'Brain Freeze' all over for a pop of baby blue, and connected the outer lower lash line to the outer V with 'Soaked' again. To highlight my inner corner and brow bone I added a small amount of 'Jawbreaker' and then to finish the look, I lined my eyes with 'Delicious.' Overall, I really loved this look, the colours were super pigmented and bright but took little effort to blend, and I experienced no fall out! Win!
Eye Look 2.

I decided to go more dramatic with this look, especially since I was wearing it for a performance. Firstly, I set the lid with 'Virgin' and blended 'Cone' through the crease. I then packed on 'Brain Freeze' all over the lid and used a fluffy brush to blue the edges through my crease. Next, I added 'Soaked' to my outer V and used 'Jawbreaker' on my finger to highlight the inner third, inner corner and brow bone. To finish off, I lined my eyes using a damp angled brush with the shade 'Delicious.' This look was super pretty and bright and the shades were very easy to work with, although, I did experience some staining the next day.
Eye Look 3.

For this look, I decided to go for a warmer, sunset style eye with some of the softer metallic shadows. Firstly, I set the lid with 'Virgin' and blended 'Cone' through the crease. I then deepened the crease with 'Tasty' and blended 'Raspberry' through the outer V. I then used a mix of 'Snack' and 'Lemon Drop' over the inner third of the lid, 'Lemon Drop' alone on the centre, 'Orange Juice' towards the outer corner, and 'And What?' onto the outer third. These colours blended gorgeously together and created a nice sunset style gradient over the lid. To finish the look off, I popped 'Jawbreaker' into my inner corner and brow bone highlight and mixed 'Tasty' and 'Delicious' together for a winged eye liner. The mix of 'tasty' and 'Delicious' was fantastic as it made the perfect, deep, cool-toned brown which I felt this palette was missing.
A few problems.
Over the last few days I have tried a few looks and experienced some problems with some of the shades. I tried to do a look with the mint green in the palette 'Cute' however I found the shade super soft in the pan and it created a lot of fallout, it also seemed to oxidise on my eyelid and turn into a darker turquoise rather than a mint. I also found the shade 'And What?' to also be very soft in the pan and it creates a lot of kick back in the palette. However, 'And What?' performs fantastic on the eye, it is pigmented, bright and sticks to the eye despite its softness.
Pros
Pigmented pastels
Bright neon shades
Soft, blend-able mattes
Metallic shimmers
Lots of colour choice
A few neutrals included for balance
Cons
'Cute' oxidises on the eyelid
Staining on the lid
Some shades are very soft and messy
No black/dark cool toned brown
Final Thoughts.
I love this palette! Normally, I am not a fan of rainbow palettes as I find the shades don't blend nicely together and I feel overwhelmed when trying to make a look. However, I can easily see many looks with this palette and I believe it is because there is a range of tones included; neon, pastel, primary, deep and neutral. The formula of the mattes in this palette is faultless and as I said before, I believe Jeffree Star has one of the best matte formulas in the business. However, two of the shades, as said previously, were very difficult to work with and I did experience some staining. Overall, I would highly recommend this palette is you are interested in the colours and although it is expensive, I believe it is worth every penny!
Thank you for reading!
